SMG2 Spoiler: Mario's Hat

I finished Super Mario Galaxy 2 a little while ago, and I found this section to be interesting. Yeah, Mario games don't really have a true 'story', but one question did come to mind... "Does Mario ever get his hat back??" The suspense is just killing me!
